Man walks into a bar, Ouch!

Interview with Kyle Massey

We caught up with Kyle Massey, star of Beethoven's Christmas Adventure which is out on DVD on November 14.

So, what was it like filming with a dog?
It was awesome - the dog is huge - humongous! It involved a lot of dog treats and a lot of bribing, but it was definitely great fun!

How about working with legendary actor John Cleese?
Actually awesome - we caught a few jokes together, it was great fun working with John. He's a great character and has a LOT of jokes to tell. He's one funny guy.

What was the best scene, in terms of filming for you?
That's a tough one - probably one of my very first scenes which involved Beethoven and me on the sleigh. That was amazing - one of those moments where you think 'this is so surreal'; it was totally awesome and a lot of fun... and as I said - involved a LOT of bribes for Beethoven.

Coming back to a more student-line of questioning... did you go to college?
I did - I did some time at the University of Missouri. But at the same time, I didn't as I started working with Disney I dropped out of college - but I did the credits. I'd like to go back one day; but I just think if you're doing what you're doing and you're supporting your family, you know - live the dream.

OK, a few quick fire questions... firstly, favourite album?
Definitely Thriller. No doubt. Michael Jackson - greatest artist of all time.

Any more?
Yeah - I love Eminem - so Marshall Mathers EP was the bomb. I'm into Kanye West, too.You came runner-up in America's Dancing with the Stars - how was it?
Oh wow - it was amazing to be out there, in front of so many people - 40 million people - dancing! Although as a rapper myself, I realised that I need to make music they can play in the club, in your room and on TV on shows like this. It was great and I'd love to do it again.

What's your favourite TV show?
Got to be the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Can't beat Will Smith.

What would you do if you weren't an actor?
I'm really into the animation side of things - so probably an animation broadcaster.

Last question, do you prefer dancing, acting or music?
Definitely the music, man. Music covers all bases. Yeah, definitely music.
