Borderlands PS3 Game Review Back

Borderlands PS3 Game Review

Borderlands PS3 Game ReviewBorderlands, released on October 23, sends up to 4 players to the harsh frontier planet Pandora in search of a mysterious Alien Vault. Featuring unique First Person Role-playing Shooter gameplay, you customise your character and kick ass, Pandora style. Finally, a non-story driven game arrives that is all about ACTION, ACTION, ACTION!

The 18-certificate game is a kind of multi task game, like GTA was, rather than a single player campaign. With tons of mini-missions to complete, you start and stop these missions at your peril. An easy to navigate map makes life a lot easier than GTA, too.

Borderlands is worth a go, even if it's not to everyones tastes. Fans of FPS games will find this a charm.

Borderlands: Controls

The player controls are very similar to BioShock's controls, so they'll be easy to pick up and run with. Fallout 3 is also seen in Borderlands, as the enemy is very similar to Raiders and creatures from the Capital Wasteland. Ultimately, Borderlands is it's own game, and very good too.

Borderlands: Load times

A major criticism to Borderlands (and many games on the PS3) are the loading times from one section of the map to another. With poor loading screens and very little to do, it'd be good to see games take a leaf out of FIFA 10's books and make something a little more interesting.

All aside, it's a great game. 3.5 out of 5.
