Mona Lise Smile Bluray Review

Mona Lise Smile Bluray ReviewMona Lisa Smile is a quaint, beautifuly period picture combining a pedagogical tale with a feminist dissection of traditional female roles in 50s USA.

Julia Roberts, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Kirsten Dunst and Julia Stiles lead the all-star cast. Roberts stars as Katherine Watson, an art history teacher who seeks to revolutionise the females at Wellesley College in 1953. Watson is stunned to realise that her young students, including Gyllenhaal, Dunst and Stiles want nothing more than to find and please their prospective husbands. Watson, who is frowned upon for being 30 and single, becomes ever determined to inspire her disciples to live for themselves rather than their spouses. The film peaks when Watson seeks to edit the curriculum to emancipate her female students to something more than cooking and decoration.

Quaint scenery and perfect performances from the female cast add to the vigour of this delightful film.

Mona Lisa Smile Blu-ray Sound & Subtitles

The blu-ray edition of Mona Lisa Smile has Croatian, Icelandic, Lithuanian, Romanian, Slovene, Estonian, Greek, Hindi, Czech, Hungarian, Bulgarian, English, Arabic, Turkish and Polish subtitles. The sound, whether in English, Turkish, Polish, Hungarian, Czech or Russian with the TrueHD 5.1 audio delivers stunning 5 channel sound, where you can hear the bird twittering, or the men sighing, as they realise their wives will no longer be great cooks! Don't get me wrong, this is a very, very good film. However, the ladies will love it, yet the men will have to put up with it - but it'll earn serious brownie points from the girlfriends! We give it 3 out of 5 stars.
