A Swedish Midsummer Sex Comedy DVD review

Starring Luke Perry of 90210 fame, A Swedish Midsummer Sex Comedy has very little to do with sex and a lot to do with comedy. Out on January 31, 2011, A Swedish Midsummer Sex Comedy was originally titled Äntligen midsommar! in Sweden.

The film is set at a gorgeous waterfront house with a Swedish flag in the distance and a sailboat tied to a wooden deck below it - where a group of friends get together for their annual hootenanny. The house belongs to Emil where there is compulsory herring luncheons, sauna games, board games and skinny dipping in the lake next to the house.

This year, the friends are all worrying about something - Micke worries about his pregnant wife and routes to the nearest hospitals. Eva is trying to distract herself from her split with Patrick and Emil's friend from the USA can't wait to experience Swedish sex. The film follows the cast of Olle Sarri, Lisa Werlinder, Alexander Karim, Anna Littorin and Luke Perry as the friends try to manage their expectations one hot summer in Sweden.

Directed by Ian McCrudden, the 86 minute long film is a comedy to remember. We give it 3 out of 5.
