Drillbit Taylor DVD Review
Drillbit Taylor, hardly a name for a body guard but anyhow, is the new kid friendly comedy for the summer.
Drillbit Taylor (Owen Wilson) a con man looking to make a quick buck sees a couple of kids as easy prey. He is hired to protect them from their local school bully after the kids fall prey to the nearly psychotic bully on their first day of school – well wearing the same stupid shirt doesn’t help.
Drillbit Taylor the homeless con man slowly mends his way as he develops a crush on a teacher at the school.
Not does he just develop a crush on a local teacher but he slowly starts to develop a friendship with the kids, it makes him think twice about taking the money and running off to Canada.
Instead Taylor hangs around does the right thing and ultimately saves the day.
It doesn’t live up to the heights of Knocked Up and Superbad ( which are both amazing films ) but the film still packs a comical punch.
One place the film has won some ground is that most age groups can watch it, seeing that Knocked Up and Superbad deal with more adult issues Drillbit Taylor deals with more common , basic and less raunchy issues. This doesn’t just create a good outing for a good group of friends but is also a nice family film to go watch one weekend – we know everyone can relate to the idea of a school bully.
