John Tucker Must Die Back

John Tucker Must Die

John Tucker Must DieJohn Tucker Must Die is out to own on DVD now. We got to grips with the leading lady, Arielle Kebbel to find out more about the film...

Q: How does John Tucker measure up?
KEBBEL:Yeah, well and you know, like for me I love ‘THE BREAKFAST CLUB’ you know, so I think it’s and ‘CLUELESS’ of course, but I think for for every actor when you’re when you’re going into something, you know, it would be a great honor to be able to compare it to something that you’ve grown up watching or admiring. Um, but you never count on that or bank on that and so I’ve never um, I I’ve never kind of counted on how the success of this movie, uh, and I don’t even think we had to have time to. I mean we honest we honestly had such a great time filming this movie and and the four of us girls bonding and and uh, getting back at Jesse on screen and off screen and all of that um, I think that we’ve never had time to think how it’s going to play out but it’s something that I’m proud of because of the um, you know, it’s got great lessons to be learned in it but it’s got a lot of physical humor and that’s something I’ve always lik--I mean you know, I have you know, ‘THREE STOOGES’, whatever it is, you know, the the poking and the slapping and the hitting and the yelling and the um, I just think that it’s just so much fun to film something like that and to be part of something like that and to make people laugh and um, so I think that’s something that I’m I’m most proud of with this.

Q: Is there a scene you want us to look for?
KEBBEL:Um, I think it’s safe to say one of the days we were most excited to show up to work was the day we knew we were fighting each other and the funniest part was we were already friends at that point but it was like I think there’s just something, you know, we all played ourselves, we all did our own stunts, which uh, is something to be, you know, proud of and it was kind of like, you know, you don’t get the excuse everyday to to have a girl fight and um, and to be able to bop Ashanti in the forehead and have her chuck a volleyball in my face um, and you know, and have Sophia really slap me and made me so stunned I start laughing and laugh and slap her back and I mean it there’s something just like so wrong but fun about that so um, I don’t it’s a hard, I don’t think you can miss that scene but definitely look out for that one.

Q: Are you a DVD fan?
KEBBEL:I do. I think um, by far my favorite feature is the the behind the scenes uh, okay I lied, there’s two. Behind the scenes and the deleted scenes. Um, I love the behind the scenes because I love watching, it’s just it’s fascinating even in the in um, being a part of the business, sitting back and watching the different worlds between um, seeing the cameras filming and then once you actually go through the lens and you’re watching it filmed it’s like you know, you go from like fantasy to reality and back again and it constantly blows my mind and to learn how a director does a shot or to see what it really looked like or how many times that they had to take that take or or how many different set ups they did. I mean I think you just you learn so much from it um, for as an actor um, and also I think you can just appreciate the creativity and the brilliance of everyone um, and then I love the deleted scenes because I love to see what a movie was like before it got edited down, you know, and cause a lot of times I find myself really loving the scenes that were deleted or sometimes going like, “okay that makes sense,” you know, um, but I I really loved the deleted scenes and especially like with our movie. Our movie went through so many revisions that if they had shot the original script it would be nothing like it ended up so um, those are probably my favorite two features.

Q: If you could be a different girl in the group who would it be?
KEBBEL: Great question. Kate, definitely Kate. Um, only because I thought Ashanti I don’t think anyone could do Ashanti or Beth’s role the way they did. I think I think everyone did a great job with their role but um, the reason I was drawn to Kate was because she has the kind of I think she has the hardest job because you know, she was asked to carry the movie um, uh, and and actually as you know, weak as she think as we think she is, she’s actually the strongest because she is her self and the strongest thing about her is she doesn’t realize she’s strong, you know, um, and so I think I was really um, I’d love to play that role.
