My Bloody Valentine 3D DVD review
OK, first things first. If you're watching My Bloody Valentine 3D for a hair-raising, suspense fuelled thriller; move on! This is your typical teen slasher that could do with better acting, but you know what - is damn good fun.
Firstly, let us clarify a few things. If you get a DVD that says "My Bloody Valentine" on the box, then it's NOT in 3D. For the 3D version, your DVD or Bluray MUST say "My Bloody Valentine 3D". Got it? Good!
Secondly, this ISN'T a scary film in the way Quarantine was; it's more fun than that.
The real novelty is in the 3D. Quite simply, you're waiting for bits of the movie when it looks like you're going to get spat on, poked in the eye or thrown a pick-axe at. And when those moments come, they're fantastic fun!
My Bloody Valentine review
There are tons of plot holes and the acting isn't fantastic. The general premise is based on the 1981 original. As Valentine’s Day comes around, a small town in Pennsylvania remembers 10 years before when an unfortunate accident promps a rampage by the accident's sole survivor, Harry Warden.Harry is fond of his pickaxe... and when 10 years later the killings start again, the fingers start pointing around the badly chosen characters.
Ultimately, this isn't a brilliant film. However, this is FUN. And if fun is what you're looking for, get your 3D glasses and get ready for a fun time!
We give this movie 3 out of 5 stars.
