Saw 5 (Saw V) DVD review
When Jigsaw died in Saw 4, you thought that'd be the end of it - alas, you're wrong! Saw 5 sees Jigsaw working his murderous magic from the dead - and the question is, are you ready to play the game?
Starring Tobin Bell, Costas Mandylor, Scott Patterson, Betsy Russell, Mark Rolston, Carlo Rota, Julie Benz, Greg Bryk, Laura Gordon and Meagan Good; you can't help but feel the Saw writers are just cashing in on a yearly Halloween phenomenon. The fifth film in the franchise sees Agent Perez (the cop at the end of Saw 4 who finds Jigsaw's tape) get captured. At the same time, Hoffman doesn't quite realise that there may be a new Jigsaw in town - and it may be a good idea to listen to him before it's too late.
Saw 5 goodness
Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad film. In fact, it's undeniably gory. However, you may be more interested in something like Scar 3D as Saw 5 has been done 4 times before. The first 2 passed the is-it-good test, but this barely makes the bargain bin at Blockbusters. We give it 1.5 out of 5.
