Scar 3D DVD review
Scar 3D follows suit with My Blood Valentine 3D - it's a 3D horror movie that'll have you jumping at a few odd moments, but it's nothing to write home to mother about, Norman Bates style. A mediocre film that tries to emulate Hostel, but doesn't quite reach the mark.
Directed by Jed Weintrob, this Horror/Thriller stars Angela Bettis, Ben Cotton, Bliss Blanton, Devon Graye and Christopher Titus. Bettis plays Joan, a woman returning to her hometown *suprise, suprise!* for their niece's graduation ceremony. But, to her suprise (and not the audience's), she's confronted by the serial killer that tried to kill her over 10 years ago.
3D horror
Joan's stalker, don't forget, killed and tormented her best friend, so she's still recovering (Halloween style). Over 94 minutes, there are tons of gory scenes, with several skin crawling moments.55 inch screen and still blurry
We watched Scar 3D on a 55 inch Samsung LCD, and there was still ghosting around some of the characters and in some key scenes, so we're not sure whether it's the crappy 3D glasses that were supplied, or that it was crapy made. It's not genius horror by any means, and you'll guess the killer before the film is up. It's better than Bloody Valentine, yes, and probably worth the tenner or two quid you'll pay to rent it, but the acting is pretty much crap and the only novelty is the fact it's in 3D.
Although, you may look like a wally wearing 3D glasses you typically get with Spy Kids, so make up your mind. We give it 1 out of 5.
