Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman Back

Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman

Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic WomanTHE ENTIRE SECOND SEASON OF THESE TWO SMASH HIT SERIES TO BE RELEASED FOR THE FIRST TIME ON DVD!

SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN & THE BIONIC WOMAN

This autumn The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman will be reunited courtesy of Universal Playback.

The entire second season of both series will be released for the very first time on DVD on 23rd October at a recommended retail price of just £34.99.

The thrilling adventures of The Six Million Dollar Man - aka Colonel Steve Austin (Lee Majors), a NASA test pilot who survives a near fatal shuttle crash and is reconstructed at a cost of $6,000,000 - launched a wave of small screen superheroes in the mid-1970s.

Beginning as a series of 90-minute movies in 1973, by 1975 it had become one of TV's biggest hits, turning Majors into an international star and launching a multitude of merchandise – from action figures to clothing - in its wake. It also introduced many pop culture elements, such as the show’s opening catch phrase and the slow-motion action sequences.

In 1975, a bionic woman arrived as love interest for Major Austin in the shape of ex tennis pro Jaime Sommers (played by Lindsay Wagner). Sommers was eventually killed off but her character proved so popular that she ended up with her own show. The Bionic Woman debuted in January 1976 and was an immediate hit (it actually topped the ratings in the UK) with Wagner going on to win an Emmy Award for her performance.

Now thanks to Playback, fans old and new can once again enjoy these two classic slices of ‘70s nostalgia
