Accommodation for International Students
Due to immigration laws you need to be able to afford the cost of living in the UK without working or claiming welfare benefits (which you will not be entitled to anyway).
In many areas of the UK there are shortages of accommodation suitable for students so it is advisable that you stat researching accommodation as soon as you have been offered a place at a university.
If you are looking to live in halls of residence then you should contact your university and find out how to apply and what their conditions are for halls of residence, many universities will guarantee all first year undergraduates a place in halls of residence.
Some universities may also offer flats or houses rather than halls of residence but it is likely you will still apply for these in the same way as halls of residence, again we recommend you speak to your university regarding this.
We advise that students get insurance for their belongings, some halls of residence will include insurance in their rent cost but make sure you ask to confirm this.
