UK graduates believe that the best career opportunities are those offered to accountants, management consultants and civil servants, research suggests.
Few students see the Army or Royal Navy as the career for them, although spying for the UK government's listening base GCHQ, is becoming more and more popular with students in the UK.
A survey of 16,000 graduates who left student life from an array of UK universities this summer was conducted by a company called High Fliers Research.
Graduates were asked which employer offered the best career opportunities for graduates. The company PricewaterhouseCoopers came top of the list.
For the second time, the accountancy agency came first. They were closely followed by the Civil Service and consultants Accenture.
Vacancies for trainee graduate accountants have increased by over 60% within the last two years with the two leading firms taking over 1,000 students each year. The NHS came in at number 7.
