Oxford University has published a league table depicting the performance of its colleges for the first time in its epic UK history.
For decades, many newspapers have compiled something known as the Norrington Table, from undergraduate degree results which are posted outside the Examination Schools.
However, Oxford university never endorsed these versions, yet says it is now publishing these official results in the interest of openness.
This year sees Merton College top the tables. Oxford university says even though it has released these statistics, it is not significant.
Oxford university's Harris Manchester college which admits mature students was bottom of the table. However it was only fully open in 1996, so is also the newest college.
The Oxford university tables show how many undergraduate degrees were gained at each college, as well as a division of degree classifications.
A formula is also applied to these statistics, to conjure a percentage mark attained by students at each college, on average.
Oxford university has 30 undergraduate colleges and 7 small private halls - which were set up with a religious demeanour.
The results of the private halls were released seperately, as Oxford university stated that in comparison to its colleges, the statistics are incomparable.
