Students who have now become UK graduates are starting to work for blue chip companies, drawing salaries of £22,000 a year on average. This is an increase of £1k from last year. Graduate positions in companies have risen by 11.3%.
Less competition for work and higher starting salaries are a result of the increase of graduate jobs, which crept up to to £26,000 on average in London.
Graduate vacancies are up by more than one fifth. The company which completed this survey spoke to 224 companies.
This is extremely good news for students about to graduate too. The highest starting salary recorded by a graduate was £55,000, with the lowest typical starting salary in Northern Ireland - on £18,000.
