Students at universities in the UK are members of over five community websites, research has found.
A poll conducted by Studento.com has found that over 80% of students questioned are members of community web sites.
The most popular website students were part of was MySpace, recently in the press regarding the worries in safety for younger users. Students however, disregard this factor.
A student questioned in the Studento.com survey stated that students "know whats what online, and so arent worried about pedophiles or safety concerns".
Other community websites students were part of include Bebo, favourite amongst students in Northern Ireland and Rock-Idols, which is both an online and offline entity, visiting student university unions as a battle of the bands competition.
However, over 85% of the students questioned stated that they share the same password for all the web sites theyre part of.
This will worry many safety experts as this could allow hackers to penetrate a number of student accounts through one password.
