According to many Government insiders, there are plans to increase tuition fees up to an excess on £10,000, fueling worries of student debt, adverse credit and fewer students.
A poll conducted by the Guardian newspaper of over 100 university rectors has revealed a mass regret about the new university tuition system which now allows a maximum tuition fee of £3,000 to be charged to UK students.
It has also been suggested that some fees for university science degrees could excess £10,000.
However, many members of Government have expressed their worry about how this would make student loans more expensive for students to cover unpaid debts. It has already been highlighted that there is spiralling student debt, with many students having to afford accommodation, travel expenses, course equipment including books, stationary and scientific equipment as well as a social life.
Students in London can easily expect to pay over £150 a week when studying at Imperial in the heart of Central London, whereas students in Aberystwyth can see their rent at £50 a week.
