UK students no longer able to buy essays online with Google

Fri, 01 Jun 2007
Students are no longer able to buy essays from the internet when using Google to search for their essays, Google reports.

Not only do students have to contend with heavy debt, tuition fees, accommodation problems and travel costs, but now its even harder to plaigarise work from the internet. Google has stopped Adwords for essay selling websites with immediate effect.

Although students can still buy essays through the internet, it will have to be directly from essay selling websites. Finding these can prove difficult, so Google itself and universities are hoping this affects the number of people who try to attempt to copy work from the internet.

A member of the Imperial College student union confidentially spoke to Studento, informing us that "essay plaigarising has been a concern of the university for many years, especially since essay selling websites came about, so us students hope this will be a good thing as our own work takes more merit".

This comes at the same time as universities are reporting a slight increase in university applicants.
