A survey conducted by Studento.com has revealed the phone habits of students in the UK. Partnering with Global Cool, the UK student website surveyed 8,529 university students to highlight mobile phone recycling.
Suprisingly, the survey revealed that 67% of students (5714) believe that their mobile phone is a part of their style with 40% of students upgrading their phone every 6 months! Over a third (34%) of those questioned sell their mobile phone either online or to a friend; with 23% of students handing it down to a friend or relative instead of selling it.
27% of the questioned students have more than 1 mobile phone, with 13% of those surveyed having between 3 and 5 and a remarkable 156 people owning more than 5 mobile phones.
Unsurprisingly, just under three quarters (73%) of students questioned knew that they could recycle their phone; but shockingly a remarkable 0.6% of students, that’s just 51 students, had recycled their phone!
If you want to get green, recycling your mobile phone is something you shouldn’t just know about – but put into practice! Global Cool show that you can lead a fun, exciting life and do your bit for the environment, with a few tweaks to your lifestyle.
