Electricity: All properties will have an electricity supply, well that is assuming it has things like light bulbs and sockets. Again you need to check your meter when moving in for the same reason as above. Electricity bills are often increased through waste. Things like leaving on lights televisions and immersion heaters can cause great expense. I would give the following tips on reducing electricity bills:

Turn off all electrical appliances when not in use. This may seem obvious but in my experience people are pretty lazy when it comes to turning things off.

If you’re using a washing machine or a dish washer make sure it’s full and try to use economy cycles.

Immersion heaters are basically giant kettles and use large amounts of electricity to heat. If left on all day by accident you will pay for it when you receive your bill.

If your central heating is run by electricity then make sure you are using it economically. If no one is in during the day then set the timer so the central heating is off during the day. It doesn’t take long to heat a typical house or flat so have it come on maybe half an hour before you arrive home.
