Clearing guide 2008

At what point is clearing necessary?

Any application to UCAS after 30 th June for university / college in the following academic year will automatically go in to clearing.

What form do I fill in if I am applying for cleaning?

You still fill out a UCAS application in almost the same way as you would do if you were applying before 30th June. The only difference is that you don’t have to put any choices of institutions or courses when you are applying for clearing.

You do still have to complete your personal statement and you still have to complete referee details and your referee still has to provide a reference.

What is the latest date I can apply to clearing?

You can apply to clearing until 20th September for a place in the following academic year. Note that this date may change each year so you need to look on the UCAS site for exact dates (see www.ucas.com).
