Clearing guides of courses and universities
Official clearing lists are published in a national newspaper, usually the Independent and definitely not in a tabloid, on A-level results day. They are also published on the official UCAS web site, which is regularly updated. The Independent will also print a revised clearing guide daily during the week for a couple of weeks after the results.
You can also find a clearing search here, a course search here, and a university search here. All searches provide details to contac the university concerned.
Finding a clearing guide is obviously the best way to start if you’re looking for a place through clearing. It is important that you also have a clearing passport, which will be sent to you by UCAS if you are eligible for clearing.
You can find a specimen of the clearing passport here:

Once you have searched through clearing and spoken to the universities or colleges you then need to decide if you want to accept one of your offers or do something different entirely - remember that you're young and this is always an option worth considering.
Assuming that you decide on a course through clearing you then need to fill In your clearing passport, this must be the original, you cannot send a photocopy or a fax and remember you are sending this to the university, not to UCAS.
Please note that any offer made either orally or in writing is unofficial until the university or college has received your Clearing Passport and told UCAS about your place.
Once you have completed this the University or College will write to UCAS confirming your acceptance and you will hear from then quickly. Hopefully before term starts but you’ll soon realise that big institutions are not always great with communication.
Also, don’t forget about your loan applications, they will all need amending etc..
