Bath is very pretty. There are lots of pretty streets, pretty buildings, pretty flowers, er, pretty dull on the nightlife side of things. Most of it happens around London St, Walcot St, St James' St, Queen's Square, and Pulteney Bridge. Here you'll find, well, erm, pubs really. Actually some of them do have DJ's and some do have bands but I think what we are trying to say is that Bath probably isn't Paul Gascoigne's idea of a good night out. Do try to be in Bath for the Bath International Festival, though, (two weeks in May and June), which is good stuff with loads of music, arty stuff, and even ballet. But then nightlife isn't everything to everyone. There's plenty to see in Bath, and it is a town steeped in history. Bath is especially known for its baths. And there's an abbey, and lots of Norman ruins. And because Bath is so small you don't even have to walk very far to see everything. So get down to the Tourist Office and ask someone who cares. |
