The city, however, has more to offer than just that. It's just north of the Firth of Tay and is surrounded by loads of beaches and hills, and there is a cool, yet tourist-y riverside area and port.

Once you get to Dundee, you realise how far north it actually is. I mean, you don't actually need to dress like an Artic explorer, but it can get nippy in the wintertime. The problem is, that although the city is self-sufficient and there's plenty to do there, if you do get bored, it's over an hour to Edinburgh and more to Glasgow, so you'd better have a car.

The nightlife is excellent, with loads of pubs (as you would expect in Scotland) and good clubs too. Tally's is the place to be, make no mistake, and Mambos on a Thursday is such good fun that if you make it out without having a) pulled, b) been pulled or c) fallen over in a drunken stupor, then you're not cut out to be a student.
